July 19th -20th |
Men, bring your teenage sons for a campout on Skate creek Rd./FR 52, and a challenging hike in Mt Rainier National Park. This will be on July 19th & 20th. Spend time engaging with Gods word and in important conversations with your boys around a campfire. There will be some teaching, praying, singing, learning and bonding.
This will be a one night campout along the side of forest road 52 in Packwood. 2-3 miles from the Nisqually entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. It is what the Forest Rangers call dispersed camping. There will be no access to water or toilets. You pack out what you pack in. No trash left behind. Human waste needs to be buried. We will set up a rough privy with a tarp and shovel. You are welcome to sleep in your tent, in your car, or under the stars. There will be parking at the site. The campsite will be marked with signs and balloons. Meet up at the campsite and set up at 8 AM on Saturday, July 7th. Campers are welcome to come earlier if you would like. I will be there Friday night if you want to camp for two nights. Once everyone has arrived and we are settled in, we will car pool into Mt. Rainier National Park through the Nisqually entrance. I have a park pass that will cover one vehicle. I am willing to pay for the other vehicle’s entry fees. Once in the park we will make our way to the trail head where our hike begins. After the hike we head back to camp for more fun and fellowship.
Everyone will need to bring their own food for one dinner and one breakfast. In addition, you will need to pack lunch for the hike. Bring whatever snacks you want to munch on during the trip. And make sure you bring water and/or a water filter. We will be near a creek or river. Bring any other drinks you want. Coffee, soda, ect…
